That’s why go through hundreds of customer feedback, reviews, facts, prices, materials, and much more, to give you the best unbiased, comprehensive reviews out there.

Then we look deeper into each mattress brand using authentic data created by individual mattress reviews based on customer testimonials, sleeper ratings, and construction information.

We only try to review only the good mattress brands in Australia and stay away from bed in a box brands with poor reviews.

For each mattress brand, we answer the following questions: How firm is the mattress and how does it feel to sleep on? What’s the bed made from? How long will it last? What is the price? Is the price relative to different mattresses on the market? Who’s it best for?

Everyone is unique, and so are mattresses. One mattress might be perfect for you and not somebody else. That’s why we try and give definite answers, advice, and the most helpful mattress reviews in Australia.

How we find brands

To find the mattresses for reviewing, we look at the Australian bed market and what brands can purchase the mattress online.

These mattresses are generally called mattress in a box because the beds delivered in a box.

Common questions around buying a mattress online

Mattresses in a box are increasingly popular, due to their convenience and value. Unlike innerspring designs, in a box mattresses can be compressed without causing damage. Many Australian mattress brands package their products this way for easy delivery and set up

bed in a box is well… what it sounds like! It’s a mattress, generally made of a combination of high-quality memory foam and springs, that’s vacuum-packed and cleverly rolled in a box for convenient home delivery.

A growing number of mattress in a box now with a sleep trial, I think they all do or at least every mattress brand we review does. During your sleep trial, you are allowed to sleep on it at home and still send it back for a full refund if you decide you don’t like it.

Most Australian mattress brands offer trial periods as long as three months, and most retailers collect the mattress free of charge.

As always, though, you must read the terms and conditions of any sleep trial.

The return policy for every mattress brand is different, so you must check there a website or see if the information is in our reviews. With the mattress in a box companies, you will find in the sleep trial, or if the mattress is damaged, they will pick it up and return it, which is way easier than buying a mattress in the store and having to return the bed there.

You can find out more about bed sizes

If you’ve been shopping around for a new bed, you might have seen that box springs are no longer popular.

Most mattress companies now sell solid metal or wood foundations, and if they sell a ‘box spring’ it’s most likely one without springs.

The reason? Mattresses have changed a lot from decades ago.

Box springs were designed to absorb shock because mattresses were much thinner back then. Most mattress companies recommend a stable platform underneath your bed for support.

A new mattress a take anywhere from 30 – 90 days to “fully” break-in. Usually, it doesn’t take that long. Breaking in a bed can be like breaking in a new pair of shoes, it may seem uncomfortable for a little while, but it soon softens and conforms to your body.

Your new mattress will instantly start to decompress after opening the packaging and will be ready to sleep on after a few hours. However, we recommend waiting around 12-24 hours to allow it to fully decompress.

Online mattress have the same lifespan as regular mattresses. The lifespan is around 7-10 years.
