Eva mattress reviews Sleepys Express

Eva mattress has a hybrid design that combines 5 zone pocket springs with latex, gel memory foam, and high-density foam. This makes the mattress thicker making it easier to get in and out of bed with an added bonus of support and pressure relief. The pocket spring design differs from traditional springs because they provide more airflow while still giving bounce and edge support to the mattress. This makes the mattress medium firm more towards the firmer side (7-8/10) and preferred by a lot of people. Eva also donates 1 mattress to charities and homeless shelters across Australia for every 10 mattresses sold.

The quality of the mattress is top notch. It's super comfortable and helps me not disturb my partner when I get into bed. I've recommended Eva mattresses to many friends and family members as they are fantastic value! $750 for a mattress that compares with that of something over $2000!

Table of Contents

What's the Eva mattress made from?

The Eva mattress is a hybrid design of 5 layers that offer great comfort and support. The layers from the top to the bottom are gel-infused memory foam, natural latex, high-density foam, five-zone pocket springs, and side pocket springs.

Gel-infused memory foam – Because of the millions of gel beads, it has excellent cooling properties that will redistribute heat and keep you cool throughout the night. The memory foam material will also adapt to your body to offer pressure relief.

Natural latex – Latex gives a gentle bounce to the bed and is very responsive. The natural latex has an open-cell and pinhole structure to allow more airflow and cooling to the mattress. Plus as a bonus latex is naturally dust-mite resistant and antimicrobial.

High-density foam – The high-density foam offers support to the top layers by absorbing the additional weight and redistribute pressure evenly.

Five zone pocket springs – The pocket springs support your spine throughout the night and minimise partner movement so no more waking your partner up in the middle of the night (or them waking you up). The 5 zone pocket springs provide different levels of support in each zone to maximise pressure relief and increase comfort. Each pocket spring is individually wrapped in fabric to help airflow and reduce motion transfer.

Side Pocket Springs – To give unparallel edge support to the mattress Eva has included larger more robust springs along its side pockets. This makes the Eva mattress nearly impossible to fall out of bed, and much easier getting in and out of bed without the bed sagging.

The Cover – Protecting all the layers is a super soft white and grey cover. The top is a stretchy white fabric that allows airflow and the grey part is a sturdier polyester blend for durability. The cover is OEKO-TEX® certified to guarantee it will not harm you with toxins.

Eva mattress thickness and weight

Because Eva has extra layers, it’s thicker than most other mattresses, measuring in at 32 centimetres which means that you can look forward to extra support. With the increase of layers it also increases the weight, the Eva queen-sized mattress is 55 kg. However, to make moving the mattress more manageable, we suggest putting it on your base before removing the compressed packaging.

How much does the Eva mattress cost?

With the extra layers and hybrid design, you would think the Eva mattress would be expensive compared to its competitors. However, it’s even cheaper than a lot of the all-foam mattress in a box options. Usually, high-quality hybrid designs can reach $3000, but as you can see from the prices below it’s incredibly affordable. Is the Eva mattress right for you?

In our Eva mattress review, we have found from multiple sources that the hybrid design gives a medium-firm feel (more towards the firm), and is great for back and side sleepers. Stomach sleepers will prefer a softer mattress. The Eva mattress build quality and use of springs can support up to 400 kilograms (unlike most mattress). If you’re searching for a mattress that offers the contour of foam but also want the bounciness provided by a coil design, you’ll love the Eva mattress.

Is the Eva mattress good for back pain? This mattress is highly rated for people with back pain from the reviews because of the edge support and the 5 zone springs that relieve pressure points. However, it’s more of a firm mattress that back sleepers will prefer so if you sleep on your stomach and are lighter in body size, it might not be as good.

Overall, we highly rate the Eva mattress, Eva offers a 120-night risk-free period to see if the mattress is right for you. It’s incredibly comfortable and has excellent build quality, plus the mattress structure allows a supported cool nights sleep. If you love hybrid mattresses, you want to read the Noa mattress review or the Macoda mattress review next as they are an affordable alternative with similar excellent build quality.
