What's the Onebed mattress made from?

The Onebed mattress is made up of three foam layers. The top layer being Dunlop latex, the middle layer is memory foam, and lastly, the base is dense foam. This combination gives an overall medium-firm feel 6/10.

Dunlop latex - The top layer is Dunlop latex which is known for naturally cooling and breathability. This layer is responsive, and you'll sink as soon as your body hits the mattress.

Visco-elastic memory foam - The secondary layer compliments the top layer by providing support and helps reduce pressure. The memory foam contours around your body, giving spine, hips and shoulder support.

High-density polyurethane foam - The polyfoam distributes and supports your weight while providing durability to the mattress.

The Cover - Protecting all the foam layers is the cover that's created out of plush polyester fabric. The top is a soft poly-blend, and the navy side panels are sturdier protective fabric. The cover is also easily removable for cleaning.

Onebed mattress firmness – This mattress has a medium firmness compared to other memory foam mattresses which are medium-firm. Since everyone is different and the mattress you sleep on can also make a difference, the best way to find out is to try it yourself.

How thick is the Onebed mattress?

How much does the Onebed weigh?

In our Onebed mattress review, we couldn't find the exact weight for the Onebed mattress. However, the mattress is made from foam materials so it will be around the same weight as similar mattresses on sale. The thickness is 26cm If you're wondering if it won't offer adequate support, you can rest assured as the firmness of a mattress is more significant than its thickness.

Although we think the Onebed is a great mattress Australians like options and getting the best deal. So, we are going to include some alternatives to the Onebed that you might also want to look at.

Hybrid Alternative: Noa

Noa is a hybrid mattress that combines foam and springs to give a great balance of comfort. Even though we think this would be the best alternative it does have a different feel being a hybrid mattress. It’s slightly firmer than the Onebed but it’s not like sleeping on a rock. You get the pressure relieving and contouring effect of Noa’s memory foam but with a gentle push back from the pocket springs beneath which stops the sinking feeling you get with foam beds.

Closest Match: Emma

The Emma mattress is very similar but with a few surprising differences. One is that Emma is made in Germany, which not too many brands can boast about. The construction is similar, apart from that Emma has developed zonal support into their memory foam which helps for comfort and pressure relief, plus it helps reduce motion transfer. The price of the queen size Onebed compared to the Emma queen size is close to being the same.

Best Alternative: Koala

The Koala is arguably the most popular mattress in Australia and for good reason. It has a massive team constantly developing and helping customers out. It recently got a mega upgrade to make the mattress better for more sleepers with the flippable layers and added zonal support. 

Is the Onebed mattress right for you?

This concludes our Onebed original mattress review, it’s an affordable option and excellent for a range of people, it's a new-ish brand but has plenty of 5-star reviews. The medium-firm feel is perfect for side and back sleepers. You get a long 125 risk-free trial, so plenty of time to try it out.
